Steel imports in India

The import of total consummate steel declined by 39.2% at 4.73 million tons on a year-on-year substratum during April to November time of the current fiscal, as indicated by the Ministry of Steel. Steel imports in India have dwindled up to 39 percent is up to 4.5 million tons in the midst of April-October of this financial over a similar period a year prior. Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh has said that the public authority has taken various steps considering a legitimate worry for the neighborhood steel industry from the unreasonable foreign competition. Since the beginning of 2014-15, the Indian steel industry has seen genuine concern due to a surge in imports from countries saddled with overflow limits and a fall in household costs. Hence this decline in the Steel imports of India is a very serious issue and which has to be looked upon.
